Wet Packed Crossflow Scrubbers
Wet packed crossflow scrubbers are air polluon control devices designed to remove contaminants from exhaust gases by passing the gas through a packed bed while a liquid (usually water or a chemical solution) is sprayed across the gas flow. In crossflow scrubbers, the gas flows horizontally, while the scrubbing liquid flows vertically through the packing material.
Key Features:
Crossflow Design: The gas and liquid streams cross each other at right angles, allowing for effective contact and contaminant removal.
Packed Bed: The packed bed, made from materials like plastic or ceramic, increases the surface area for interaction between the gas and the liquid, improving scrubbing efficiency.
Applications: Used in industries like chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and wastewater treatment to remove pollutants such as dust, fumes, and soluble gases.
