Bio Trickling Filters
- $176.00
Description:
A biotrickling filter is a combination of a biofilter and a bioscrubber.
A bioscrubber consists of a gas scrubber and a biological reactor. In the gas scrubber, to-be-removed components are absorbed from the gas stream by the wash water.
In the biological reactor, the pollutants that have been absorbed by the wash water are biologically degraded. The bacteria responsible for decomposition are immobilised on a carrier or filter material.
The filter material consists of synthetic foam,or a structured plastic packing.
This form of Biofiltration is a pollution control technique using a bioreactor containing living material to capture and biologically degrade pollutants.
Common uses include processing waste water, capturing harmful chemicals or silt from surface runoff, and microbiotic oxidation of contaminants in air.
